phillip morris
heard a speaker from phillip morris yesterday
he was (unfortunately) asked how do you justify working for a company whose main revenue comoes from a product that kills?
his answer (that he repeated many times) : What if cigarattes were good for you? and later, What if cigarettes were good for you? I want you to keep that in the back of your mind.

WOW WHAT A NIGHT.
i just had one of the greatest nights of my life! alberta, and greg elliot enjoyed it with me. thanks alberta for buying the ticket that made me go. i hope everyone reading this was there, but i know that can't be true =(.
First of all, stubbs has a seemingly strict policy on cameras getting in. All audio/video/photo equip would be confiscated blah blah blah. I brought my camera hoping to get in with it, and the chances were pretty slim, as all the photogs said. However, it was just my luck that the trumpet player from broken social scene was present. After pondering and talking to me for quite some time, he decided to bypass all the higher ups and made sure I got a photo pass!! sweet. I got greg elliot in with his camera with some sneakniness. I was pretty close for feist, which was a good time. Got some ok photos, but i was far and the light was pretty much crap as it is at most concerts.
By the time broken social scene came on i was front row. Broken social scene played an AMAZING two hour set, both old and new stuff. The new stuff ROCKED just as much as the old, to my delight! I got some cool pics of broken social scene. During the show, the trombone player took my camera and used it! He took a picture of the crowd with me in it. Pretty cool. After the show the trombone player came up to me and gave me his email addresss asking for my pictures on a nice little note. he was like "i saw you taking a lot of pics, thats awesome. here's my email address" whoo! At the same time the guy running the show at stubbs came up to me to yell at me. I was only supposed to shoot the first three songs of each set, but I greedily shot the whole thing. Greg got yelled at because he didnt have a photo pass. The trombone player was there, which I think helped me and greg get off the hook but I doubt they could have really done anything.
so yeah, amazing amazing concert. It would have been awesome even without all these cool things. Front row, rockin show, cool shit!
It looks like i have some pretty cool pictures. Some are kinda soft and blurry, but I dont care I still like them.
pictures soon.
edit :
here on the left is the guy that hooked me up with the photo pass. the one in the center is the guy that took the 2nd photo to be posted. i dunno who th eguy on the right is, and yes there is a random asian in my shot.

yes i look weird, but dont i always? probably has a tiny bit to do with the wide angle used. next to me is greg elliot, and u can find an alberta in there too
